Talk The Walk | GASO on the syndicates behind recent surge in human trafficking cases across Asia
The stories are frightening, dramatic, and sound like scenes from a horror movie. Victims recall brutal beatings, rape and being sold like animals. As news of human trafficking cases surged across the region, I asked the Global Anti-Scam Org - an NGO that has been helping victims escape - who might be behind these brutal syndicates in Southeast Asia, and why local law enforcement have been reluctant to help.
We also go into detail on what happens once victims arrive to the countries they've been scammed to, and why it's almost impossible to get out.
